 My computer shuts off itself, Says it is getting overheated |

So for the past couple weeks my computer will shut off by itself after it gets overheated. When I turn the computer back on it says click F1 to continue, what is going on and how do I fix this?

If it's out of warranty, it may just be more cost effective to buy a new one depending on the diagnosis. It could be as simple as a failing system fan, or as bad as a failing processor. I'm assuming this is a desktop... try taking off the side of the case and starting it up. Check to make sure all of the fans are running. Normally there is one big one for the case, and one small one directly on the processor. Let me know what you find out! |

Sorry for not a fast reply but I found out that a fan inside it went out and since the computer is like 5 years old, were just going to get a new one soon. Thanks for the help guys.
