Did everyone see the personal foul "roughing the passer" penalty that we received in the last game? I think that call was bogus and inconsistent with other calls around the league. Here's why:
1. He hit the QB in the back of the legs, nullifying the injury risk.
2. He was being ridden by/blocked downward by the opponent.
I really don't know what we're supposed to do there. I don't know how you can play football if the DT can't make that play.
Am I wrong? Was this consistent with other games? Should he have simply taken himself out of the play to spare the QB the trouble of being tackled?

This QB protection crap has me thoroughly disgusted...I am an old timer, so the league's new rules are "way" too soft as compared to the way "real men" used to play the game.

By letter of the law, it was a good call. The problem is the law is inherintly stupid. You can't tell guys they can't tackle a QB if they are ridden into the ground. I understand a lot of the rules they are putting in for safety. This is one rule I do not understand.
