I really expected some activity around here today -- the Lions are 2-0!!!!

OK, it's preseason and we all have the 4-0 preseason championship t-shirt, but isn't there a different feel about this year's team? Shouldn't we be talking about the improved hitting, the work the new LB's need to gel and the solid confidence in the passing game? How about the improved activity level on the sidelines?

Or, should we be talking about how crisp they looked at home against the Bengals, compared to how relatively sloppy they played against the Browns in Cleveland?

Or, should we just stay quiet until the regular season comes along?

I was impressed by the assured performance against the Bengals but kept telling myself that this is pre-season and so I should not get too excited about what I'd seen. I found myself frustrated for the majority of the Browns game as the performance was anything but assured but told myself not to get too disappointed as this is the pre-season. I'm looking forward to seeing how we perform against the Pats next weekend as it could provide a good indicator of just how good we will be this season but am trying to stop myself from getting too excited about this upcoming game by reminding myself that is just the pre-season :shake:

I am a bit worried about our running game. Best isn't a straight forward runner. Losing Leshoure hurt. I am bummed about that. We are gonna have to find another wr, I think we could end up claiming one soon. The defense looks ok. This week is gonna give us a good idea.

I gotta believe the running game has everyone worried. The stats were a silver lining, but if you take the Burleson play out, even that's gone.

Add to that the apparent concussion to Best and it's easy to see why the enthusiasm is a bit tempered right now.

Game 3 is usually the full-dress rehearsal. Should be a good test. I'll be shutting off all the electronics to make sure when I turn the game on TV at 9:30, I'll be able to watch it without knowing the outcome.

I don't care what happens, I just want to come out of it without any new injuries.

I'm a little worried. Yes, we killed the Bengals, who are terrible. However, they still ran all over us, meaning we had not improved a major problem from last year. And Cleveland is switching defensive schemes, so they weren't nearly where they will be in a months time. Next week will tell us all a lot.
